English football team Chelsea F.C defeated Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid 2-0 and 3-1 on aggregate Wednesday to advance the Champions League Final.
They will face English Premier League foes Manchester City, who defeated Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 and 4-1 on aggregate the previous day.
Chelsea started the goal-scoring in the 28th minute after midfielder Kai Havertz’ lob over goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois hit the post, only to be headed in by teammate Timo Werner.
The English club added on to their lead in the 85th minute with a goal by young star Mason Mount to cement their place in the final.
A few months ago, it looked like a Champions League final was out of the question as the club, led by Frank Lampard at the time, was struggling with consistency, defensive strategy, and efficiency.
Since Thomas Tuchel took over the club, however, they have re-established their identity as a tactical, defensive powerhouse in English football.
They will be looking to complete their sudden resurrection by winning both the FA Cup final and Champions League Final
